The end is near... the end of gardening season, that is. There are still a few plants in bloom, but overall, things are winding down. The fall asters are at their peak as are the Japanese anemones and the toad lilies. There are still a few nigella (also known as Love in a Mist- isn't that a sweet name?) and a couple of very late poppies. It seems my first and last bloomers in the garden tend to purples and pinks... This is a short post, but I thought you might enjoy seeing these last few blooms... the colours are quite a change from all the glorious yellows, golds and reds we are enjoying in the fall foliage.
Peace,
Linda

It's quite remarkable that the gardens are still going despite the date. I am pleased and I am sure that you are, too. Anytime that we get nearly six months of flowers...
My flowers are done. I have kept the geraniums on the porch just a little too long and have to remember to remove them today. The Mums I put on the front deck were moved to the back pond area and put in the ground. They were attracting bees which somehow found their way into the house. Halloween decor is up in the house and I treated myself to lights too. I love lights and will have to switch up the decor to Thanksgiving and I am KEEPING the lights!!

These photos are gorgeous and I love the purples and blues! Such a nice contrast to the oranges and yellows of the trees. It has been a beautiful few weeks hasn't it?
Some flowers are done and some are still blooming in our gardens which makes it kind of hard to put them to bed for the season and the weather has been very warm and humid still which is odd for us this time of year . The leaves are falling fast so next will be cleaning them up hoping to get it all done in the nest week or so . Lovely photos , thanks for sharing , Have a good week !
Still some beauty in your garden , lovely photos . It was nice to see you even though briefly on Saturday.
Some pretty blooms still in your garden. I'm amazed at some of my flowers that are sending out blooms at this time of year but it has been a strange one, weather wise.
How lovely that you still have flowers blooming. We've had hard frosts plus snow so everything has been finished for awhile now here. At least the snow melted and there's still some leaves on the trees. Lovely quote :)
Beautiful colours, Linda. Love the purples...and so late in the year!
