The Purples of June

It seems there's lots of purples in June, at least in my garden. The alliums are done now but they were spectacular this year, and I had fun with my camera the day they were loaded with droplets of rain...

Other purple blooms this month included lilacs, iris, chives, clematis, spiderwort, columbine, shooting-star, Jacob's ladder, cranesbill, bachelor's buttons and of course there are the lovely lupins...

I love all my purple blossoms, and I know you're not supposed to "play favourites" BUT the Bachelor Buttons are a favourite, for sure...

Although they're not in my garden, I had to include some lupins (just for you, Sara!)

Are you tired of all this purple? Are the soft greens and purples  making you drowsy? If so, here's a little jolt of orange to wake you up! LOL

Are you a purple lover? Do you have any purples in your garden?

Peace,
Linda

I like purples and for a short while there, it was the predominant color. Now it's yellows.

Oh, how I do love purple! I have a few plants in my garden showing off their purple majesty. One of them is the cleome. It comes up each year reseeding itself and is my favorite! Seeing those lupines reminded me of being in Montana last week...they were everywhere! I need to add some to my garden, for sure.

Oh yes, I am drawn to purple and to orange flowers. Looking around my garden most flowers are of those two shades. I have lots of iris, lily of all variety and Rose of Sharon. Ok, the Rose of Sharon are not blooming yet and are not purple. But they ARE on the purple side of pink.

I never tire of purple and most of my flowers are this, or pink. You need a purple butterfly for your collage Linda. lol
Sara always shares the most amazing lupines, doesn't she? My little roadside New Brunswick lupines are only going to have leaves this year, rabbits kept eating them.

Thank you, Linda and Judith! :) I will soon post very many photos of lupins...
Your photos are gorgeous, Linda! I love everything purple/lilac and indeed now many of the most beautiful flowers are those colours. Your alliums are like precious pieces of art.
Belated Happy Canada Day wishes! xx
