Vee's Notecard Party

It's time again for Vee's Notecard Party. The rules are simple- you are asked to post four photos (which have previously appeared on your blog) that you feel would make good notecards. Couldn't get much simpler could it? Of course you link back to Vee at her blog once the Mr. Linky gadget is posted. It's such fun to see everyone's work and there certainly are some GREAT photographers out there in blogland!! This party happens on the third Wednesday of each month. Why don't you consider joining in on the fun?
Here are my choices for notecards for this month:

Poppies in Debby's garden

Hosta after the rain, taken in my garden

Day Lily from Debby's garden

Wild Roses in the Lupin patch
Isn't it a shame that we rarely take time anymore to sit down and write a note to a friend or relative? Life seems to get busier all the time.. we hurry through the day with a list of things to accomplish. Email is faster and easier than taking time for a phone call, and rarely do we see personal correspondence in our mailbox - bills and flyers make up the bulk of our mail these days. The art of letter-writing is becoming a lost art. Children no longer practise cursive writing but their keyboarding and texting skills are exceptional... Would most children today even know what a notecard is for? Sometimes you have to wonder if we are becoming too technologically advanced.. What do you think?

Make sure you pop on over to visit Vee and see the other Notecard Party participants here.

Peace
Linda

Oh Linda,

Those shots are delightful and would make absolutely gorgeous note cards!

I write cards all the time, especially to the elderly who I know who don't use computers. They especially need a pick me up in the mailbox from a loved one.

Oh my goodness, you must have been in my head today. Just had the conversation about our offspring and their keyboarding skills versus their inability to write cursively. The conversation was spurred by a compliment regarding my handwriting (people often assume I am an ex-teacher, but no just was taught the beauty of the written word by some excellent ones) and it all came while I was tidying out my desk drawer and wondering when I last wrote a letter. Your photos are lovely and would be cherished by anyone receiving a note. Move over Hallmark!

Wonderful note cards and what a sweet combination with the roses and lupins. I don't write enough cards and letters, though probably more than some. What joy it is to receive a written note in the mail!

I absolutely agree that because of all the technology we have, we have lost important things in the trade-off like face-to-face time and personal touches like sending cards. Although, if you do take the time to do that, you will certainly stand out and probably be remembered because of it.

Gorgeous colours and textures of plants that I'd love to receive as note cards.

Note cards seem to be a thing of the past, you're right. It makes me sad, as my mom taught me how to sit down and write a nice note -- and now everything is technology! These are gorgeous photos! Love 'em!

Beautiful photos Linda! I love the roses and lupins. It's so true about letter writing. It's almost a lost skill and art today. Although if you received a letter from me you wouldn't be able to read it as my handwriting is so awful. I guess that's because I now type all the time! Yikes. I've become one of them!! LOL

These are beautiful, and the first one with the poppies is my very favorite! My theme color for the year is poppy red so I'm particularly fond of it.

Beautiful images for your note card choices! Yes, I do mourn even my lack of letter or notecard sending these days. It's such a pleasure to receive something handwritten in the mail. I'm trying to motivate myself again to do more of what I used to do...

Beautiful photos, hosta is my favorite, they wold make great note cards. I still like sending notes but I think it is becoming a lost art. (my DIL told me they don't even teach handwriting in school anymore it's considered an extracurricular activity offered after school....amazing. There is something about a note and a letter it has a permanence about them (I still have letters my husband wrote over 35 years ago...you can't say that about an email)

Lovely cards, and yes it's a shame we don't send cards as frequently as we should. I volunteer at a Nursing home and send residence cards a couple of times a month, they love it, it's so important for them to know someone took the time. My note cards go there. I not only get to share what I love to do, but get a smile out of a person who has little to smile about.

Beautiful images. The world of communication is changing, no doubt about that. I sometimes wonder where this is all going. I do love receiving a card or letter in the mail. Happens so rarely these days.

These are exceptional photos. The Hosta picture is full of beautiful texture and light. I agree with you email and text are the note of today.
My mother who is 89 still writes and mails note cards.

I love the garden photos you chose! Such exquisite photography. And yes, it is a shame that letter writing and cards are no longer in fashion. I will still hold on to the tradition, though!
